Operational Management & Compliance

• Managed a board-approved academic program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources aligned to strategic priorities.

Chief Academic Officer | KIPP Chicago Public Schools | July 2012 - June 2019      

• Led the expansion of KIPP Chicago Schools from a single campus with 360 students to a district of eight schools serving 3,400 students from Kindergarten through 8th grade.

• Led and supported the development and execution of a comprehensive organizational strategic plan that resulted in all KIPP Chicago Schools achieving the highest accountability ratings of Level 1+ or Level 1. During this period, KIPP Chicago not only had the highest-rated schools but also became the top-performing network within the Chicago Public Schools portfolio of 476 K-8 schools.

• Developed and implemented policies and accountability mechanisms to strengthen educational program execution and ensure compliance with district and state regulations. This effort resulted in a seven-year renewal term, the longest ever awarded to a charter operator in Chicago and the State of Illinois.
